Join the Parish
St. Gregory the Great
Meetings take place the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the rectory.
The Church of Saint Gregory has a very active Women’s Guild. Membership is open to all women, eighteen years and older, who are members of Saint Gregory’s parish, with an interest in the Guild and its purpose. The purpose of the Guild is to enable the women of the parish to serve in ways which are fulfilling to themselves as adults; to support the pastor by participating in charitable, social and education activities in the parish; and to meet and welcome new women of the parish in a relaxed in formal setting. The Guild meets monthly, from September through June with the exception of January on the first Thursday of the month. Meetings are held in the rectory with the instillation of officers taking place at the October meeting. Some activities include, the Giving Tree, a project involving the design, construction, and decoration of the Giving Tree ornaments each Christmas season. This service project provides gifts for the residents at Clarks Summit State Hospital. In the month of February, the Food from the Heart project provides food to the Abington Ecumenical Ministerium Food Bank. The Guild also organizes and hosts a baby shower at the December meeting for Saint Joseph’s Center, donating one large item as a collective gift from the Guild membership. The Guild members make rosaries that are donated to area nursing homes and the First Communion Class. There is also an annual Day of Reflection sponsored by the Guild, held in March at Saint Gabriel’s Retreat Center.
